But there is growing evidence that we are all descended from common parents.

ANSWERS IN GENESIS
V911

Andy McIntosh - Intricacies of Flight      60 min

In the world we see three types of flying creature. Birds, bees/butterflies/moths, and bats. Each type reveals the rich variety of God's creation.

Birds have many structural features that could not have evolved. They must all be present at the same time if the bird is to fly.

The flight of butterflies and moths is still not fully understood. Fossils of butterflies are the same as the modern creature.

Bats fly using a wing that has no feathers or scales.

V912

Tas Walker - Noah's Flood Evidence in Australia      62 min

V913

Ken Ham - The Key to Reclaiming the Culture      41 min
Ken challenges his American audience to recognise how the church has lost its influence on the nation's culture. One problem is our failure to believe what the Bible says about the world we live in. If we cannot answer questions about the Bible's statements on science and our origins, why would people believe our call to acccept what the Bible says about Jesus as Saviour?

V914

Jason Lisle - Viewing the Universe Through Biblical Glasses      36 min
Our world-view determines how we interpret the world and the universe in which we live. Either we accept that God's word is truth or we agree that mankind decides "truth" without reference to God. The Bible is not an astronomy textbook, but when it touches on astronomy, it is right.

Terry Mortenson - The Origin of Old-Earth Geology and Christian Compromise in the early 19th Century.
The debate about creation and the age of the earth is essentially a debate between two belief systems: Philosophical Naturalism and Supernaturalism. Philosophical Naturalism holds two principles - first, nature or matter is all that exists and second, everything can and must be explained by time plus chance plus the laws of nature working on matter. Supernaturalism believes that God created the universe and is still active as shown in miracles, prophecy and the incarnation of Jesus Christ.

This DVD is quite technical as it considers the types of features that geologists study in rocks.

Describes many features of underground caves, rivers and other geological features known as karst, and gives examples. Silvestru states that undergound caves and rivers provide about 25% of the world's fresh water and have huge potential as a source of high quality water.

This DVD has a lot of technical detail but it includes good images of caves and related geological features.

MOVIE
V941

Mother Teresa of Calcutta      111 min

Sixty years ago a young nun in Calcutta heard God calling her to leave her convent and serve the poor and dying in the streets. For fifty years she met all opposition from within the Roman Catholic church, the community and the Indian government with the same response, "Jesus has called me to serve the poor." She quietly but firmly rejected attempts to create formal structures and organisations around her work, preferring to work under God's direction. This movie tells the story of her life devoted to those who were neglected and rejected by others.

Joseph      3 hours

This three hour movie is no sanitised children’s story. Its M rating (for audiences 16 years and over) is justified. Produced by Time Life Video in a series on biblical themes.

He’s not the loving husband, caring father and honest, generous Christian businessman he appears to be. The only bright spot in Jay’s life is his classic Triumph sports car, but although it looks great, he cannot drive it until he replaces the flywheel. Like his car, Jay has deep-seated problems and he is forced to make painful changes. By the end of the story we see that a man who gives his life to God really will be a different person. Ravi Zacharias
Ravi is the founder of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) based in Atlanta USA. His messages focus on apologetics and evangelism.

V949

The Lostness of Man      42 min
Although this message was recorded more than 20 years ago at an Evangelist’s Conference, it is still relevant for both Christian and non-Christian. Ravi declares that mankind tries to understand the universe and explain life without reference to God our Creator and Redeemer. Every attempt to build a better world fails because there is something wrong with the heart of man. We keep coming up against the same problem – we cannot trust each other. The answer is found not in trying to make bad people good but in turning to Jesus who makes dead people live.

V950

The Uniqueness of Christ in History      57 min
If you claim that Christ is unique, people will soon object, criticising you for being narrow-minded and bigoted. In the face of such opposition, Ravi Zacharias asks how we can defend the Christian faith if we do not believe that Christ is unique. He defends the uniqueness of Christ in five points – His eternal existence; His ability to change us from the inside out; the personal nature of His message; His ability to inspire our creativity; His life among us as a man.

V951

Who Are You God?      49 min
Ravi states that life and destiny hinge on two questions: How can you be sure God exists?
Supposing God exists, how do you know that the Christian way is the only way God has revealed Himself?
He says there is a third question that often arises, especially if life is not going well: What is God really like?
Through another question, "What does the Bible tell us about God?", Ravi explains that God is above every other authority, perfect in every way, knows all things and never changes.

V952

What is Worship?

Hosted by Dan Wilt and produced by Vineyard Worship
"What is Worship?" is a training DVD that explores the questions of Who We Worship, Why We Worship and How We Worship.
Mankind has always been driven to worship someone or something. The Scriptures are the Christian’s guide because they help us to find the worship that God has placed deep in our hearts. "If worship is about anything, it is about wonder," says host Dan Wilt in his introduction. Worship is also a response, a response to God’s love. Because it is a response, it is not about putting on a show for God or trying to impress God. Worship is also more than singing songs, it is a "whole life response" to the love of God.
"What is Worship?" includes comments from well known authors, song writers, worship leaders and scholars including Brian Doerksen, Matt Redman, Peter Fitch and Kathryn Scott.

V953

Ray Vander Laan
In the Dust of the Rabbi
      2 hours
The title of this 5-part study is based on the ancient Jewish proverb, "Follow a rabbi, drink his words and be covered with the dust of his feet." Ray Vander Laan takes a group of Christians on a journey through Israel and Turkey where he explains what it meant to be a disciple of a rabbi. He looks at the process of becoming a disciple, the men Jesus chose as His disciples, and the differences between the early Christians and the other religious communities of Israel and the Roman Empire.

The pack includes a brief study guide with questions for each session.

V954

Ravi Zacharias and Michael Ramsden
Has Christianity Failed You? And What Does This Say About Jesus?

Too many people have turned away from Christianity after being hurt by the church and/or individual Christians. The experience has left them with deep-seated feelings of distrust and bitterness.

In this two-disc set, Michael Ramsden and Ravi Zacharias tackle the apparent failure of Christianity to respond in real and compassionate ways to people’s experiences in life. They reaffirm that faith is not a blind leap into the dark, convincing yourself to accept something that is not true or real.

"Biblical faith," says Michael, "is nothing less (indeed it is much more) than putting your trust in something that is real and true."

Following their presentations, Ravi and Michael answer thirteen questions put by members of the audience. This would be a good resource for older teens and adults who want sound answers to questions about the Christian faith.

MOVIE
V955 The Second Chance      103 min
Conflict between a wealthy, white suburban church and a poor, black inner city church is transformed into a mission partnership in this story about privilege, poverty and grace.
Ethan Jenkins (played by Michael W Smith) is the suburban pastor who is forced to confront his own prejudices while Jake Sanders (Jeff Obafemi Carr) is the brash, street-smart pastor trying to protect his inner city church from interfering "do-good" visitors. The tension between Jake and Ethan gradually subsides as the two men confront their own weaknesses and begin to discover how they can work together to restore hope to a community desperate for change.
This movie reflects the reality of church life in many cities and it will have you inspecting your own church culture and your attitude to those who serve God in different communities.

Charles Price - speaking at Central West Christian Conference

These messages from Romans chapters 1 to 8 were recorded at the Central West Christian Conference at Orange, NSW.

Charles Price explains that Paul wrote this letter to the Christians in Rome to counter rumours about the message he was preaching. It is the most complete explanation we have of what the Gosel is - a message that tells how God came out of heaven so He might get into people. In the beginning, God made human beings who would reflect His character. Through sin, man became unrighteous, no longer presenting an image of the character of God. The Gospel shows how God changes us from being unrighteous to being righteous.

Missy follows the deepest longings of her heart and chooses the path that fulfils love’s enduring promise.

V992 Love's Long Journey      85 min

The third movie in the series “Love Comes Softly”.

Missie and Willie LaHaye head west in a covered wagon with a dream of establishing a cattle ranch and making a new home in the American prairie. After leaving the protection of the wagon train they face the threat of robbers and groups of Indians that still live and hunt in the area.

The young couple collect a land title and soon discover the value of good neighbours in this isolated region. Prayer, love, compassion and reliance on God shine more brightly than the violent episodes in this story. The DVD comes with a Bible study guide.

(A few violent scenes give this movie an M rating)

V993 Love's Abiding Joy      87 min

The fourth movie in the series “Love Comes Softly”.

Life is hard for cattle ranchers in the American West as they battle drought, disease, storms and primitive conditions. Willie and Missie LaHaye enjoy a wonderful reunion when Missie’s father comes to visit but their joy is soon overshadowed by tragedy.

As the story unfolds, Willie’s and Missie’s faith and love are tested in many ways. They are almost overwhelmed by their personal grief as well as the deceit and greed that threaten to destroy the close knit farming community.

Worship - That Thing We Do

Session 1: Worship – It’s What We Do      31 min
Worship is a vital part of who we are as people. Worship is the activity of the human soul. Who or what we worship is not defined so much by what we say but by the way that we live.
When you know what has “worth” to you, you know what you worship. The issue is not the quality of our worship (we all worship) but the object of our worship.

Session 2: Worship – Why it Matters - Part 1      36 min
Worship is not restricted to being a musician or singing in church. Worship matters no matter who you are I should be the centre of your thoughts and the driver of your passion – because God is worthy; because every human being is a worshipper; because there is a war over your worship.

Session 3: Worship - Why it Matters (Continues from Session 2)      38 min
Worship matters because we become what we worship; because it is fuel for the soul.

Session 4: Worship – The Big Picture – Part 1      35 min
Worship is our response, both personal and corporate to god. For who He is! And for what He has done! Expressed in and by the things we say and by the way we live. Worship is an action; what you do. Worship is our response to what God has initiated.

Session 5: Worship – The Big Picture – Part 2      42 min
There is a God side to worship. Think of coming to worship because God wants worship, not because we want it. Worship is finding the heart of God. Worship happens when we centre our mind’s attention and our heart’s affection on God

Session 6: Raise Your Hands if You’re Sure      47 min
Worship has very little to do with music and a lot to do with our hearts. Posture and worship is a very sensitive topic. When the heart engages with God in worship, the body responds (without pretention or forethought). God is more concerned about the posture of my heart that about the posture of my body.

V995 Louie Giglio & Andy Stanley

History

Session 1: God’s Passion for God’s Glory      58 min
History is the story of God. All that happens is because of God and for God. You need to know what God is doing in the world (the big picture) before you can know where you fit in what God is doing in the world. God has made Himself the centrepiece of history, but He wanted us to be in His story.

Session 2: History’s Rule      46 min
When you settle on a god, you want a god who is totally devoted to himself. If he’s not totally devoted to himself, you need to know what he is devoted to – and follow that.
We are in the best position to give God glory because we were created in His image. When Adam and Eve attempted to hijack the glory of God, things didn’t get better, they got worse.
Until I accept that I am a mirror designed to reflect God’s glory, life won’t make sense.

Session 3: Little Me – Big God – Huge Life      56 min
Everything God does (including the death of Christ on the cross) is done for His glory. The cross reaffirms the uniqueness of God – in His love, mercy, grace and kindness.
We act as if we have a choice, whether we want God in our story. The fact is, we are part of God’s story. We can choose to try our best on our own, or accept His invitation to participate in His story. I you make yourself little, but associate yourself with an infinite “I Am that I Am” God, you have a huge life.

Session 4: The Glorious Middle      69 min
God is the central character of history and everyone else plays a secondary role. Eventually, God gets all the glory – whether we give it willingly or not.
This is both a comforting and a threatening truth. The glorious middle (Romans 12:1), learning to live through Christ. God can still take the junk, the bad stuff, and leverage it for His glory.

MOVIE

V1000 The Nativity Story      102 min
As the Jews struggle under harsh Roman rule, God prepares to fulfil the greatest prophecy of all – the coming of Messiah. Despite the pain and oppression, the story is told through the characters, not battle scenes. A useful movie if you want a dramatic presentation of the Christmas story that stays fairly close to the Gospel account.

Rated: PG "contains violence"

V1001 The Awesome Story of Christmas      60 min
The Christmas story told in a way that encourages children to join in. As Larnelle Harris tells the story, the words are displayed at the bottom of the screen. There is a song after each section of the story. Most of the pictures are static and the simple production style would suit children from about 4 to 7 years.

MOVIES V1002 to V1004
V1002 The Ten Commandments      88 min
This animated movie of the life of Moses gives an accurate presentation of the biblical account, with a few scenes added for dramatic effect. The animation will appeal to children, but the movie would be suitable for anyone not familiar with the story of the Exodus from Egypt.

Rated: G
V1003 Love's Unending Legacy      84 min
Grieving the death of her husband Willie, Missy LaHaye moves with her son to live close to her parents and returns to her teaching. V1004 Love's Unfolding Dream      88 min
Missie’s adopted daughter, Belinda Tyler, is now eighteen and dreams of becoming a doctor. Despite strong opposition and a number of setbacks, Belinda is determined to follow her dream, until newly-qualified lawyer Drew Simpson arrives in town. Belinda’s commitment to medical studies leaves no room for romantic attachments, but it is not easy to ignore love. This is the sixth story in the series "Love Comes Softly" by best selling author Janette Oke.

Rating: PG

V1005 Stephen Lungu
Street Kid to Evangelist      27 min
Stephen describes the miracle of God’s work in his life, turning the former gang leader into an evangelist and mission leader. Recorded when Stephen visited Christchurch in October 2008.

MOVIE
V1006 The Ultimate Gift      112min
Jason Stevens lives for money and the good life. Although he has no love for his grandfather, when he turns up for the reading of the old man’s will he discovers a legacy more precious than money – a gift that promises an exciting, fulfilling future. This is a provocative movie about a grandfather’s plan to help his grandson learn what is really satisfying and valuable in life. Rating: PG “Contains low level violence”

V1007 If Only I Had a Green Nose
Life in the quiet village of Wemmicksville turns chaotic when Willie Withit arrives with his paint box and brush. The Wemmicks are soon lining up to join Willie’s latest scheme for getting “with it” – a green nose. At first, Punchinello resists the urge to join the crowd, but eventually he succumbs. This story for children exposes the cost of giving up a treasure (our individuality) in an attempt to fit in and be like everyone else.

V1008 Robber of the Cruel Streets (The Story of George Muller)      60min
There was little in the young, rebellious George Muller to suggest that he would eventually touch the lives of thousands of orphans in Bristol, England. He was changed when he encountered Jesus Christ and was inspired by the example of an old orphanage in Germany, the land of his birth. Despite early opposition from neighbours, Muller’s orphanages became famous for giving shelter and training to children who otherwise were doomed to a desperate fight for life on the streets. A second DVD contains interviews with several of “Muller’s Children”.

V1009 The Outbreak of the 1904 Welsh Awakening
This account of the Welsh Revival highlights the role of Evan Roberts, a 26-year-old coal miner and blacksmith’s assistant who rose from obscurity in the last few months of 1904. Saved at the age of 13, Roberts spent the next ten years resolutely attending prayer meetings, listening to many messages and studying his Bible. During this time he also prayed for a revival. The revival began in Loughor at the end of October 1904 and within a few weeks had spread throughout Wales. Some historians say at least 150,000 were saved in a period of six months.

V1010 Rob Bell

Everything is Spiritual      78min
Starting at the account of Creation in Genesis chapter 1, Rob Bell builds a picture that puts God at the centre of everything. He removes the distinction we sometimes make between the secular and spiritual. Rob’s affiliation with the emergent church helps to explain his approach to theology. For example, he suggests that doctrines we think are incompatible may coexist more easily in God’s eyes. You may need to pause this message more than once to allow you to ponder a particular point or discuss it with others. The DVD was recorded in 2006 when Rob took the presentation to more than 20 cities across the USA.

MOVIE
V1011 Fireproof      119min
At work, inside burning buildings, fire fighter Caleb Holt lives by the code: Never leave your partner behind. At home, faced with a dying marriage, Caleb lives by his own rules. This is the story of the struggle to rebuild a marriage; a venture that requires commitment and patience. Caleb’s father provides the tools for the marital rescue plan, although his son resists the idea of including God and the Bible in the project. The serious theme at the centre of this movie is relieved by regular glimpses of life as a fire fighter. The producers have also created “The Love Dare”, a devotional book that expands and extends the topics covered in the movie.

V1012 Liz Curtis Higgs

Embrace Grace      52min
Liz Curtis Higgs understands grace. Her life was a mess when she began to follow Christ and discovered the power of His grace. A Christian can be certain of two facts, says Liz. The first, you are loved and the second, all your sins are forgiven. Our relationship with God is based on His goodness, not our goodness. God’s abundant grace is not a licence to sin, but the freedom to live full-tilt for God without fear. When you understand grace, your first reaction is gratitude and humility because you know you don’t deserve it.

V1025
Truth is not just for our Heads      41min

V1026

Faith in Tough Times      37min
A personal tragedy may turn us away from God if our relationship with Him is based on false assumptions. Jesus warned that we would have trouble in this world but He also said "Take heart". God loves you; God is in control of everything that happens to you; you can trust God’s promises.

V1029 Louie Giglio

Fruitcake and Icecream      54min
Louie begins by reminding his audience what God has done for us through Christ. He gives a simple definition of grace – “God in action”. The message develops slowly, but, in the second half, Louie’s description of God’s grace in the life of Florida college student Ashley is one of the most moving you are ever likely to hear.

V1030 Louie Giglio

Hope When Life Hurts Most
Part 1: The Anchor of Hope      46min
John 16:33 tells us to expect trouble in life. Louie says we have to decide where we will turn when trouble comes. He urges people to turn to the cross, to the death of Christ, because there we see that God loves us; God is in control; God can use the worst for eternal good; God paints on a canvas bigger than you can see or understand.
Part 2: The Megaphone of Hope      54min
The grave is not the end of the story for those who put their hope in Christ. We have already been grafted into a story that lasts forever. When trouble comes you need to know you have an overcoming Saviour who offers a refuge of peace in the midst of turmoil. The cross is a megaphone that amplifies the Christian’s hope and message to the entire world. You and I speak the loudest to the world when we suffer.

V1031 Beyond the Gates of Splendor      96min
A documentary based on the dramatic story of five missionary couples who went to Ecuador more than 50 years ago. It is narrated by Steve Saint, son of pilot Nate Saint who was one of the five men killed by the savage Waodani (Auca) tribe in January 1956. The story is built around interviews with many of the people involved in the actual events, including Waodani people who describe their conversion from a life of fear and violence.

Chuck Missler
Strategic Perspectives 2009
Chuck Missler toured New Zealand and Australia to give his perspective on recent world events and his assessment of the world situation in relation to biblical prophecy. He also promoted the intelligence gathering role of the Koinonia Institute. Recorded in Brisbane, Australia.

V1033
Louie Giglio
My Really Bad Date
In this 4-part series, Louie deals with the problem of rejection, the baggage we bring to every relationship and the importance of having a good relationship with God. Each of us is a work in progress and our relationship with God will have an impact on our human relationships.

Part 1: It's Not You. It's Me.      52min
We crave acceptance and fear rejection. Louie reminds us of four facts we need to remember when we go into a relationship. I am a person of great worth and potential; I am a work in progress; the key to becoming is beginning; life story trumps love story.

Part 2: Baggage Claim      54min
Louie hauls a series of suitcases and trunks up on the stage to demonstrate that we all bring baggage into a relationship. He describes 6 bags that weigh us down but then adds a seventh bag we must all have, "The cross of Christ".

Part 3: The Hook-Up      55min
NOTE: This is an explicit message on the sexual elements of a relationship. Preview before showing to a youth audience.
When a male and female have a relationship there will always be sexual tension because God made us sexual beings. The bottom line of Louie's talk is that a relationship built around sex will not last. You have to have a life story that's bigger than your sex story.

Part 4: DTR (Define the Relationship)      56min
In every relationship one partner reaches a point where they want to know where the relationship is going - it is usually the girl who asks the question. She makes herself vulnerable because in that moment she faces the possibility of rejection. But there is an even bigger relationship we need to define, our relationship with God. He took the first step and reached out to us. How will we respond?

V1034
Charles Price
Who's Who in the Cosmos?
(A Glimpse Behind the Scenes)
Charles presents a wide ranging view of the spiritual forces that are not usually visible to the human eye.

Part 1:Enemy Number One - Satan      51min
Ephesians 6:10-13
Behind the visible world there is an invisible world. Behind evil people there are evil forces. We are in a battle and we need to know something about the forces involved. Satan (the devil) is a real being who is mentioned many times in the Bible. This message considers Satan’s origins, his personality, his location and his destination.
Part 2: Identifying Demons      65min
Ephesians 6:12
There is an army of demons (or evil spirits) working with Satan to oppose God. This message considers who demons are and what they do. It also takes up the question of whether demons can possess Christians.
Part 3: Demon Deceptions      46min
Ephesians 6:10-18
We are involved in the conflict that exists in the spiritual world. Demons may influence our physical power (make us blind or give us physical strength) but not our moral power. (I don’t lie because a demon made me do it, but because of my fallen nature) Do not give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). Stay away from astrology, horoscopes, Ouija boards and other doorways for satanic and demon influence. The devil and his spiritual forces try to lead us astray by promoting false doctrine. We are to respond to Satan and his demons by treating them with respect and realising that our strength in the battle is from the Lord.
Part 4: Angels - God's Secret Agents      50min
2 Kings 6:15-19
When God opened the eyes of Elisha’s servant, he saw the angelic host. Angels are messengers of God. They are created beings, greater than human beings, everlasting beings. We must not pray to angels, worship angels or seek angels. Remember that God has chosen to keep some things about the spiritual world to Himself – some things remain secret.

Charles and Hilary Price      V1035 to V1040
Holy Land Series - Walking Where Jesus Walked
V1035
Following God’s Direction (Mt Nebo)      Charles Price      33min
Deuteronomy 32:48
Deuteronomy 34:1-8
The Israelites could have walked from Egypt to Canaan in less than 2 weeks but because of their disobedience they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. At Mt Nebo, God allowed Moses to see the land of promise but he was not allowed to go in. In Numbers 20 we read that Moses disobeyed God - striking the rock for water instead of speaking to it. Charles shows the parallel between Christ our spiritual rock and the physical rock at Meribah.
V1036
Can Anything Good Come Out Of Nazareth? (Nazareth)      Hilary Price      43min
Luke 4:14-21
Nazareth is a place of amazing announcements. Religions ask people to come to them but in Nazareth, Jesus announced that God had come to people. Nazareth was a small insignificant town so no-one expected a person from Nazareth to amount to anything. Do not let your preconceptions or prejudices prevent you from meeting Jesus. Can anything good come out of a bad situation? Hilary shows how good came out of a lack of wine at a wedding feast.
V1037
Trust And Obey (Sea of Galilee)      Charles Price      47min
Matthew 4:18-22
Jesus invited the fishermen to follow Him and then made a commitment to them, “I will make you fishers of men.” Change often comes through a crisis and Charles shows how Christ changed the disciples through two crises in a single day. (Matthew 14:13-36)
V1038
He is Risen (Garden Tomb)      Charles Price      46min
Luke 24:1-8
Christ promised that He would die and rise again from the dead. The resurrection is a critical component of the Gospel message. The resurrection was a contentious issue when Christ was raised from the dead and it still is today. Charles describes three explanations for the empty tomb. He then considers the question, “If Jesus did actually rise from the dead, what then?”
V1039
A Voice Crying in the Wilderness (Bethany)      Hilary Price      55min
Matthew 3:1-3
The baptism of Jesus in the Jordan is in some senses a re-enactment of the history of Israel. At the Jordan river, the Israelites crossed into the promised land; Elijah was taken into heaven; Elisha came back to Israel The Jordan is a reminder that when there seems to be no way forward, God can make a way - and because He does it, He gets the glory. Hilary also notes that the role of John the Baptist was to point people to Christ.
V1040
Moments of Meditation      Charles & Hilary Price
Each about 4 minutes.
A good series if you are looking for a brief meditation. The eleven locations include Bethlehem, the Garden Tomb, Gethsemane and the Mount of Olives.

Charles Price V1041 to V1042
Crucial Christian Convictions
V1041
Living With Biblical Convictions      43min
2 Timothy 3:14-17
Charles considers 3 questions: What do we believe? Why do we believe it? Is it true?
The Christian Gospel is not about personal beliefs or preferences but truth and error. It is either right or wrong. The truth is what we call Christian doctrine; a coherent body of belief in which all the pieces fit together. Doctrine is important because our actions express our beliefs and values.

Convictions About Scripture      48min
1 Timothy 4:13-16
2 Timothy 4:3
The Bible is a library of 66 books. The Old Testament is basically the story of Israel and God’s dealings with Israel. In the New Testament we see that Israel is the nation through which Messiah (the Christ) will come and through Christ we see the birth of the Church. This message deals with both the Authority of Scripture and the Inspiration of Scripture.
V1042
Convictions About the Trinity      45min
Deuteronomy 6:4-5
Can we know God? How can we know God? We know most things through our five physical senses but to know God we need revelation from God. This message considers three issues: What Christians believe about the Trinity; the basis of that belief; how Christians experience the Trinity.

Convictions about Humanity and the Deity of Christ      50min
John 8:12-20
It is not easy to answer the question “Who is Jesus?” because He is both divine and human. Yet this is the most basic question we can ask. This message shows that the things that are true of Jesus lead us to deduce that He is both fully God and fully human. Even so, we are still left with a mystery the human brain we cannot solve.

Charles Price V1043 to V1045
Knowing God
V1043
The Existence of God      43min
Psalm 19:1-4
John 17:3
It is impossible to know God but we must at least attempt to do so. If we start with the issue of whether God exists, we find that God is known through revelation - natural revelation, special revelation or personal revelation. This message considers some of the philosophical issues around the problem of knowing God. Only Christ (the personal revelation of God) can save us and bring reconciliation with God.

The Knowability of God      49min
John 17:1-3
You cannot prove the existence of God to a sceptic, but the Bible tells us that we can know God. Knowing God is not simply about intellectual understanding and knowledge of God, it is more a matter of experience of God. Some of God’s attributes belong to God alone and He does not share them with His creation, but other attributes (attributes of His character) have been given to human beings - whom He has made in His image.
V1044
Knowing God by Experience      46min
John 17:1-3
John 14:15-21
You get to know a person through experience. It is the same with God - we get to know God through our experience of Him. In Scripture, God reveals himself primarily through His relationship with people and His actions among people. The lessons we have learned from the Bible have to be experienced to become real.

The Sovereignty of God      43min
Jeremiah 18:1-6
The main issue in the life of a Christian is not what I do, how much doctrine I know, or how often I read the Bible - but how well do I know God? Charles discusses the problem of trying to understand the idea of sovereignty. Systematic Theology is one attempt and Biblical Theology is another. Charles prefers Biblical Theology. God sent Jeremiah to the potter’s house to see an illustration of God’s sovereignty.
V1045
The Holiness of God      55min
Isaiah 6:1-6
“Holy” means to be separate, set apart or distinct. In the Bible the holiness of God is spoken about in two ways - in His uniqueness and in His ethical qualities. When we experience the holiness of God, it will do something to us - as it did to Isaiah.

The Worship of God      42min
John 4:19-24
This message considers three questions - What is worship? Why do we worship? How do we worship? It considers the difference between worship in the Old Testament and the New Testament. In our churches we do not always recognise this difference. To know God is to be filled with such love and adoration for God that we worship to complete that experience.

MOVIE
V1046 Friends for Life      90min

After the death of his wife, Jim Crawford learns that God is ready to guide him through his grief into a new life helping others. At first he ignores the wolf that visited his wife but later his care of her cubs leads to his own rescue. He also discovers the benefits of helping his neighbours.

MOVIE
V1047 The Perfect Stranger      95min

Nikki Gominsky responds to an invitation to dinner with Jesus Christ because she thinks it’s from her husband playing a joke. But the stranger she finds waiting for her in the restaurant introduces himself as Jesus and during the meal Nikki discovers more than she expects about herself and about God. (Rated PG)

V1048 Carolyn Dodd
A Letter from a Friend      42min
Carolyn explains Paul’s letter to Philemon in the context of someone writing to a friend.

Paul affirms the value of this friendship, telling Philemon "I am praying for you", "I hear good things about you" and "I want you to grow". He also says he is confident Philemon will make the right decision about receiving the runaway slave Onesimus back again. It is an appeal made on the basis of love.

Charles Price V1049 to V1052
Transformations: Following the Signs of Jesus' Miracles
V1049
Changing Water into Wine      42min
John 2:1-11
In John’s Gospel we find eight miracles or "miraculous signs". The word "signs" is important because a sign is not an end in itself, it is a pointer to something else. Turning the water into wine is a case of making something extraordinary out of something ordinary.

Three Stages of Faith      43min
John 4:46-54
An official begs Jesus to heal his son. The story shows three stages of faith – seeking faith, resting faith and a knowing faith.
V1050
Healing at the Pool of Bethesda      45min
John 5:1-9
Jesus’ question, "Do you want to be healed?" seems too obvious but it is crucial to the whole incident. Jesus never asks an unnecessary question; they are always designed to get to the heart of the issue. As the man began to respond Jesus’ command "Get up", the miracle took place.

The Feeding of the 5000      44min
John 6:1-13
This event shows God at work in a seemingly impossible situation. Jesus performed miracles as a man, not as God. He said He could do nothing Himself, only with the Father. When Jesus "gave thanks" He reckoned on the Father being able to provide. The feeding of the 5000 shows God at work where no-one had the resources to meet the need.
V1051
When the Things Over Our Head are Under His Feet      41min
John 6:16-21
There are many risks in life. We were designed to take the risk of choosing and obeying the Lord Jesus Christ. We learn from four elements of the disciples’ experience during a storm on Lake Galilee – where they were, why they were there, what they saw and how they responded.

The Healing of the Man Born Blind      44min
John 9
This story raises philosophical, theological and practical questions. Why was this man born blind? Who is to blame? Jesus was able to meet the situation but He did not follow a formula. Allow God to be original in the way He works in your life..
V1052
Raising of Lazarus from the Dead      45min
John 11:1-44
Lazarus had only one problem – he was dead. But because he was dead, nothing else about him was right. In these verses we see the reality of a dead man; the raising of a dead man and the release of a living man.

The Miraculous Catch of Fish      54min
John 21
This miraculous sign is different from all the others because the normal laws of nature are not reversed or over-ruled. The disciples are defeated and discouraged. They turn their back of Jesus’ calling, "I will make you fishers of men." In these verses we find the confirmation of Peter’s calling and a reminder that Jesus will meet us in the issues of life.
